Upper Secondary English (Punggol)

Approach:
Explore plays, monologues, novels, poetry, magazine articles and opinion pieces wherever possible (read and try to write our own pieces, book reports).
Selection of interesting texts to deconstruct it for vocabulary and further comprehension.

We also elevate their appreciation of and overall fluency in the English language for their future, by including:
1. Freewriting to help warm up their writing muscles and start expressing their inner worlds
2. Emulate models of good essays
3. Expose students to good informative articles, opinion pieces
4. Close reading and critical analyses of narrative and opinion/informative texts.

We highly regard appreciation of the language to be first and foremost, while also not losing sight of their academic performance especially when examination period inches close, but as always, love for the knowledge first, will go further and deeper!

NUS Arts and Social Sciences degree holder with 7 years of experience in teaching Primary English, Math, Science and Secondary English.
